Under The Thinking Cap
Kathy Whitmire, MEd
With over 40 years of experience working with students, Under The Thinking Cap was started to address the needs of students using brain research to improve emotional regulation and learning potential.
The founder, Kathy Whitmire has worked with students from PK to high school. She was named National Distinguished Principal, her schools won many achievement awards, and she assisted in the founding of a residential therapeutic school for middle school boys. With a Master's degree in Special Education, and extensive training with neuroscientists across the nation, Kathy travels the country presenting workshops and working with schools.
Mental Health and School Safety
In consultation with child therapist Brianne Whitmire, LPC, Under The Thinking Cap has developed interventions and strategies based on brain research to address emotional regulation needs and out of control behaviors.
